Simplified interface

DirectAid makes your work easier.

intuitive We avoid complex tools so that the software is easy to learn, and easy to re-learn if you haven't used it in a while.

real-time We are using modern graphics techniques to provide a more interactive environment for the user.

context-sensitive We keep the interface simple by keeping tools close to where they will be used.

Special Features

Working with data is a snap.

work in any datum / projection Easily use data from many different sources and work with international datums and projections.

plots Colour plots include fold, as well as offset and azimuth homogeneity plots which show large-scale trends in offset and azimuth distribution. Detail plots include offset, azimuth, and midpoint distribution.

build scripts from scratch Use shooting templates to handle common scripting jobs, or combine templates to build more complex scripts.

vector graphics DXF and Shapefiles

multiple

Multiple file formats

Any array of supported formats

projects SEG-P1 and SPS

scripts SPS, ARAM24, and I/O binary

images JPG, TIFF, PNG; uses GeoTIFF, OziExplorer MAP, or TFW georefernecing data.

datums

Datums & Projections

Extensive set of units / datums

Blue Marble Geographics GeoCalc The industry standard with an extensive set of units, datums, and projections.

layer coordinate systems Each layer has a coordinate system (unit, datum, and projection info) associated with it. Layers using different coordinate systems can be loaded into a single workspace. Layers can also be exported to any coordinate system.

Layers are transformed on-the-fly to a single "camera" coordinate system used for display and editing. Never worry about conversions again!

Intuitive project editing tools

multiple projects in one workspace work with several versions at once; easily align a new survery with an old one; keep post-plot data separate from pre-plot.

design tools - add new lines - easily move existing lines - interpolate gaps - renumber lines and stations - measure area and length - grids: DLS, NTS, and regular grids (UTM, lat/lon, etc.)

flexible

Flexible properties

DirectAid allows you to do more.

associate custom data with individual lines & stations Properties can be displayed in a map, used to filter some operations, and can be summarized in reports.

example uses mark date shot for sources and list total number of sources shot each day for an ongoing project g mark newcut and existing trail and use the total length of each to more accurately estimate costs g mark charge size for sources and use this information to estimate the effect of diminished usable radius on subsurface imaging.

reports

reports

Easily defined report templates

unlimited possibilities DirectAid uses the Python programming language to define report templates. It's easy to learn and has extensive community and library support.

easily applied templates Define a report template once, then apply it quickly and easily to any project.

example report output download pdf examples of g project report g parameter summary

other example uses Generate daily reports detailing the number of sources shot each day and compare them to past days.

Report the total length of newcut and existing trail for use in cost estimates.
